Annual Meeting 2023
The meeting was held at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View on Saturday, January 14, 9:00 am. and also via Zoom. Our featured speaker was James Armstrong, NV6W, ARRL Santa Clara Valley Section Manager. His topic was Amateur Radio Response to 2021 Regional Firestorms.
We approved changes to our Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, and elected officers for 2023.

Jim gave a brief history of the role of the Section Manager and the evolving role of the NTS (National Traffic System.) He complimented Tim Howard and the county training program and also stressed the value of CERT training. In the 2021 Firestorms, he said that amateur radio operators used mostly 2 meter and 440 bands to communicate (not HF), and were mainly deployed for animal rescue units. Jim stressed the importance of getting direction from local officials to learn what is needed – never self-deploy.
